it kind of blows my mind that THREE YEARS AGO, jay put a ring on my finger.
where, oh where, does that time fly off to?!
i'm not sure if our proposal story is on this blog, but basically jay asked me to marry him under this huge live oak tree.
not only is this a beautiful tree, but this tree is my favorite tree.
in high school + college i would bike or drive to this tree
+ jay was the only guy i ever took to this special place.
it completely blew me away that he proposed at this place,
major props to him for realizing that it would only make it that much more special.
he put lanterns in the branches with tea lights + it was beautiful.

i decided to make a date to celebrate a good memory so i made scones the night before,
packed up the car + drove jay out to our tree early saturday morning.
we swung from the branches, jay climbed the tree + scared the heck out of me
+ sheila had the best time running around watching us climb around.

i'm really glad i took video as well.
while this footage was suppose to be made into something else,
plans change + while i'm still getting used to that,
i'm glad i have these moments captured to look back on.

i remember the day after jay proposed.
i woke up with the sun peeking through the blinds, highlighting the dust in the room
+ looking at this beautiful, new piece of jewelry on my finger + thinking,
wow, life can't get better than this.
the amount of love i felt for the world, my friends, family + most importantly, jay,
kept a smile on my face for that entire day,
it was an amazing feeling, knowing that life was so good.

but you know what?
life got even better in a more mature way.
in these three years i've laughed, cried and loved harder than any three years of my life.
+ as we walked together again under this tree,
my heart got a little bigger for the love of life i have.

fast forward to now + i look at this day with some pangs of sadness + loss, again.
that doesn't stop me though from adding this day to another page to a good life
+ loving jay + this tree even more.
happy three years my mr. j.
you make my life oh so good.
