a big boy room

let's talk about how it's almost been a year, a WHOLE YEAR, since i blogged here.

i sorta feel bad about that, but i'm going to try + catch up...maybe,

but in the meantime, i wanted to always remember eli's big boy room!

i think this room was more fun to decorate than his nursery. 

i loved placing toys, books, things i know he loves + plays with.

it was my goal to be intentional about his room, leaving room for creativity + room to be quiet. 

since our home isn't huge, the room had to have toys in it + while i was worried about it distracting him from sleeping, he seems to be doing well!

i didn't really have any thing welcoming back to say, but i just always wanted to remember this sweet room + the boy with a saggy diaper who loved it.

our first camping trip

pulled into tahoe + immediately realized i'd left behind some reeeeally important things,

but this spontaneous, 24 hour camping trip was seriously magical.

i stressed the whole way up how sleeping, 

in a campground full of wonderful people who've never experienced eli's sleep evasion screams,

would go over.

but despite the fact that i really didn't bring enough food...water...fire necessities,

eli's first camping trip went down in the best of ways.

i'm kicking myself that i didn't take enough photos...or maybe it was good that i didn't,

but this boy got dirty, ate bugs + dirt, laughed harder than he normally does,

ate his food like the biggest boy + loved being outside.

he even fell asleep in UNDER 2 MINUTES.

thank you beautiful tahoe air.

since jay + i work basically every weekend,

our trips this summer have been so short during the week,

but it's something about these short + sweet trips that have seriously rocked it this year.

thank you tahoe for definitely not disappointing.
