pickin up chicks

imagine this:
you get a call from the post office around 7.30.
they say, we have your chicks.
could you imagine that?
it's like christmas in january.

last night i drove to gridley because the counihan's were getting 27 chicks.
i, of course, had to be apart of that.
it was so exciting knowing that the next morning we would have them!
as a semi city girl,
i've never had baby chicks to love on before + when that call came from the post office,
we were off!
the chirping could be heard from the back of the building,
the peeping got louder + we could hear their little legs
moving around, running around.
we were handed a box with holes.

we drove slowly home,
awing + loving over their little noises.
then the box was opened...

maybe you like little cats or maybe you think puppies are cute,
i've always been all about any animals.
those baby chicks?
 soooo cute.

i mean, i'll let the pictures + the video speak for themselves.

ps. say goodbye to these chickens...their time is almost over
of course today they laid like 7 eggs...it's like they knew.
