our first baby

Saturday, March 5, 2016

can't help but get a little emotional, typically camilla, i know, about these pictures.
this dog has waited by me through a lot.
cries over two losses, cries over joys.
she always got up with me when i was sick, motivated me to get out of the house
+ now waits by me as i've slowed down.
today, as i sat in the nursery, she, on her own, came + laid down on me, quietly waiting.
i have a feeling like she'll be there for midnight feedings + changes,
but instead of looking over this big belly,
i'll be looking over our little baby.
oh man...i can't wait.

slick creek

Sunday, June 28, 2015

so it's been a pretty busy summer.
with jay in school + wedding season + all,
i've felt like we haven't really gone out + done summer right yet.
so jay worked really hard thursday to finish everything + we took off to the mountains to explore.

this overlooked a massive canyon.
the picture doesn't do it justice, but jay is actually standing on the edge of a cliff.
hundreds of sparrows flew over around us,
the river roared under us
+ i felt like we were just floating on top of this beautiful land.
we saw no one, heard no one, no cell service
+ it felt like no one, but us had ever stepped on those rocks.
it was pretty humbling.

we then drove on + randomly decided to pull off to the side + hike.
we had no idea where this road lead, but we felt like it would be worth it.
it was.

it opened up into this MASSIVE field.
again, pictures didn't do it justice,
but i def ran out into it singing,
the hills are alive!
hahaha

 + this.
the water was cool enough for it to be refreshing, but it was warm too.
we think a hot spring emptied into the creek somewhere along the way.
there was a small "waterfall" that had a tiny pool.
then it evened out, making it the perfect afternoon chill spot.

the water was maybe inches deep,
even sheila could lay down in it.
it wasn't fast moving, it was lazy and perfect.
we called it slick creek.
jay kept laying down in the water.
he would slick his hair back, look at me + say,
don't i look sooooo cool?
it made me laugh every time so this special place was dubbed,
slick creek.

this is sheila's terrified face + this picture seriously makes me laugh.
every.single.time.
she is a character.
we would be relaxing + would try to climb into our laps,
pawing us + licking our faces.
i'm convinced that she had just as a good time as we did.
as i sat in this creek,
no phone in hand, no distractions except jay + sheila,
+ the only sounds were the birds, the creek + our laugher,
i looked around + thought,
it doesn't get better than this.
it was the perfect friday.

ps. sheila doesn't like to swim. at all. which is a bummer because we are always in the water!
so we saw this place as the perfect swimming teaching opportunity.
let me tell you.
i've had an easier time teaching 1 year old's how to swim than this dog.
oh well, we sure got a kick out of this.

HER EYES.
hahahah it's like she is saying,
how could you?!
oh man, the best.

chillin at the park

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

i can promise you that this post will basically be a bunch of pictures
of a c u t e puppy named oswald + a dog named sheila.

there ya go ;)
but seriously,
some of our really good friends just got the cutest french bulldog
+ he just ran his little heart out trying to keep up with sheila.
i'm actually laughing thinking about his short stubby feet shuffling under that little body.
beth + wyatt came in from utah for a family wedding
so we met up at the park to let our fur babies meet + basically fall in love
booya! it was a total success.
plus it was wonderful to see some of my favorite people.
okay,
back to cute pictures of puppies.

happy tuesday!

ps. GAH. i pinched those cheeks to last me a few months until i see that rascal again.

The Routine

Friday, November 14, 2014

i always wake up to the shower running + sheila licking my foot.
it's like clockwork every morning.
as i climb out of bed, + head downstairs, she's licking my fingers, pj bottoms, feet,
the whole way down.
without telling her now, she quietly lays down, eager for her breakfast.
as i start on jay's breakfast + lunch, she finishes
+ waits by the back door. watching me with her big eye's.
she is patient, but she does have her schedule.

it's begun to really snow here in rexburg + watching her experience it has been my favorite.
i mean, look at that running picture...uhhhh i wish i could have that much excitement about snow!!!
funny how much showing something or someone else something new, makes you remember how magical that "newness" can be.
i hope wherever you may be you are staying warm,
i know i'll be cuddling with my pup!
happy snow days!

ps.
i may or may not be looking up red jackets + little doggie boots
her feet started bleeding outside today!!
and i may or may not buy some because i really want to see how she reacts with boots on her feet.
that's okay to buy those kind of things....right??

while waiting for the boys to get back from shooting,
i walked back home with these pups + shot some quick pictures
of these two goof balls.
dogs are the best you know?
dogs are the best.
i wish i took video of the moments.
these two were hilarious.
man, can anyone else relate with me here on how
much you can care about some animals?
yes? okay good.

ps. this is our pup the morning we first got into california...
to say she didn't miss us is an understatement.
this picture is my favorite.
