The Nursery

happy happy happy due date to us.
i can't believe that this day is here, i made it past leap year,
+ i'm still pregnant.
i for sure thought i'd come early + though i didn't bank on it AT ALL,
i really am surprised he hasn't come yet!

this nursery has been month of procrastination in the making.
i had a whole pintrest board of ideas + none of them made sense all together.
but in the end, it finally came together LAST NIGHT + i'm pretty happy with our simple, yet
first baby nursery!

i find myself drawn to this room.
rocking on the chair, while jay sits against the crib.
sheila is constantly walking into the room as well,
checking on it, licking everything, but it's like this room has this weird kind of peace for all three of us.
peace + excitement.
now that it's done, i love to just imagine everything that is about to happen in here.
the memories + moments that will happen for us first timers brings butterflies just thinking about it.
oh boy, we can't wait.

so here is our simple, yet well loved little room!

i HAVE to brag about this artwork done by my AMAZING sister in law LaDonna.
how BEAUTIFUL is it?! she painted it on this amazing wood slab.
so much talent.
she needs to open a shop...like yesterday.

that's a pretty special jar to me.
we were given it for a wedding gift with instructions to enjoy it with a fancy feast.
it was this amazing, yummy drink, so beautiful + felt so "rich" drinking it in our celebration glasses.
but what i'll always remember about this jar is that we drank it on the ground.
in our kitchen, on a picnic blanket because we had no table yet.
we were eating out of tupperwear dishes because we hadn't unpacked everything yet
+ it was one of the best nights in that first apartment.
inside are rolled up notes, mostly from jay, that i always add to.
this jar will be a treasure someday to me, more so than it is now + i thought,
what better place to have this, than this room.
it's just a little favorite detail of mine.
