oh christmas tree oh christmas tree

growing up, i can only remember getting a real tree a few times + maybe we ventured into the forrest for one or two, but real was eventually replaced by our beautiful *fake* christmas tree.
all the big windows looked out into the back so it was never seen on the street.
none of these facts ever made a bad christmas, but these last few years of living in idaho have been SO fun to experience a real tree!
we went this year again with the jensens + it was a blast.
i took more video than pictures, had to pee more than what is fair being 6.5 months pregnant in snow
+ laughed way too hard watching sheila bound around with her foot booties.

christmas tree hunting in the wild is nothing like the movies--at least out here.
finding a good tree is like looking for a needle in a haystack + usually take an eye of creativity to find the perfect one, but after multiple stops, we found her!

she was hard to spot + it took some conniving to let jay know this would be a good one,
but once she was down, AH! magic.
i know it's so taboo to do christmas before thanksgiving,
but can i defend myself real fast?
once we actually get back from thanksgiving + the weekend after have time to find a tree, we only have two weeks tops in rexburg before we head to california for christmas.
last year we didn't decorate really before we left + it was really super depressing.
so we decided to do it a bit early this year + i'm not even feeling guilty.

it has snowed, it's official.
welcome christmas.
i've even gotten some christmas shopping done, look at me go.

i may or may not have been a little too emotional about how AWESOME our tree actually turned out once we got it into our house
+ i couldn't stop smiling as we decorated.
christmas is the best + i can't believe it's our last as just the two of us...
i'm guessing christmas is only going to get better from here on out.
i mean have you LOOKED at how cute babies can be dressed for christmas?

enjoy our little charlie brown tree.
it's not much, but it's real, + can be seen from the front window.
so all the heart eyes for that.

it's ours + i really love it.
