makin yummies

Saturday, March 1, 2014

so my sister julia is adorable + of course she bought
a donut pan + of course we had to make yummy donuts,
so that's just what we did.
we decided that six of them were going to be the yummiest, cutest
donuts you ever did see.
we even got weird + made a maple/bacon one.
julia thought it was yummy.
we laughed as we made everything + shooed
kids + adults away
until they were just right.
+ they were just right.

here is the recipe if you would like to make some of your own yummies.

2 cups of cake flour
1/2 cups of sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla

heat oven to 375. grease + flour pan. sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, + salt in a large mixing bowl. stir in buttermilk, eggs, butter + vanilla: beat until just combined. fill 1/4 full. bake 10-12 minutes, until the top of the donuts spring back when lightly touched. cool five minutes in pan, then place on cooling racks until cooled completely.
then have at it.

it was easy, fun, + best of all yummy.
let me know if you made some + if they worked out for you!

the last weekend spent in rexburg was with the cookes.
time well spent.
literally.
opportunity cost right jess?
there is something really special about living in rexburg,
where your best friends live 20 seconds away.
we are really blessed to live here.
pizza was the bomb.
one of the best traditions i think jay & i have come up with.
pats on our backs.
good friends, good food, our favorite dog,
it was the best way to end rexburg until april.
i mean, if i see snow outside my door until then...

ps. if you would like the recipe to this homemade pizza, head over here
oh and we made a video about it too
